Forged Connecting Rods:

Professional Installation is a MUST for all of Hench Performance parts.

Fitting in block

A minimum of 1.5mm clearance must be maintained between the connecting rod and engine block to make sure the rods rotate freely in the block.

Checking clearance

The following clearance must be maintained to insure proper connecting rod performance. Connecting rod bearing to crankshaft clearance should be set at 0.05mm -0.08mm. Side clearance on both rods should be a minimum of 0.4mm to 0.06mm per pair. Clearance are subject to variation based on personal experience of the engine builder. The recommended wrist pin clearance is 0.02mm to 0.04mm. In some cases, depending upon actual wrist pin diameter, this provided may not be adequate clearance and may require sizing at the time of installation.

Bolts

Proper fastener installation will prevent rod failure, most of rod failures are caused by incorrect fastener installation and/or maintenance.

Cylinder to Piston: 0.04-0.06mm

Recommended Ring Gap:

Top Ring: 0.45mm-0.55mm

Second Ring: 0.50mm-0.55mm

Oil Ring: 0.45mm

Clearance is subject to variation based on personal experience of the engine builder. In some cases, depending upon actual bore diameter, this provided may not be adequate clearance and may require sizing at the time of installation.
