FORGED CONNECTING ROD & FORGED PISTON
FORGED CONNECTING ROD
Features
Hench Performance Forged Connecting Rods are available for most rod designs come with optimal performance and reliability, such as commonly H-beam, I-beam, X-beam, QA-beam, even our latest QX-beam which is lighter bug stronger.
Most of our Connecting Rods come with radial groove in pin end for better lubrication besides the oil reservoir on pin end, and grooves in thrust face for weight reduction and reduced friction, of course for better lubrication of connecting rod bearings.
Hench Performance Forged Connecting Rods with bolts forged from 4340 chrome moly alloy, fully CNC machined and shot peened, dimensionally and magnaflux inspected to ensure extreme reliability, big end honed to exacting tolerances within 250 millionths of an inch, Multi-stage heat treated for dimensional stability and fatigue life, each connecting rod set is balanced to weights within +/- 1 gram.
Customized in small quantity is available, for more options such as stepped big end, tapered pin end, tapered beam, reinforcement on big end and pin end, lipped cap, force feed oiling(also called rifle drilling), all can be made as per your wish.
Assembling manual
Professional Installation is a MUST for all of Hench Performance parts.
Fitting in block
A minimum of 1.5mm clearance must be maintained between the connecting rod and engine block to make sure the rods rotate freely in the block.
Checking clearance
The following clearance must be maintained to insure proper connecting rod performance. Connecting rod bearing to crankshaft clearance should be set at 0.05mm -0.08mm. Side clearance on both rods should be a minimum of 0.4mm to 0.06mm per pair. Clearance are subject to variation based on personal experience of the engine builder. The recommended wrist pin clearance is 0.02mm to 0.04mm. In some cases, depending upon actual wrist pin diameter, this provided may not be adequate clearance and may require sizing at the time of installation.
Bolts
Proper fastener installation will prevent rod failure, most of rod failures are caused by incorrect fastener installation and/or maintenance.

Forged Piston
Features
Hench Performance Forged Pistons are made by 4032 alloy which contains more silicon for less expansion at high temperature, super strong and long lifetime.
Flexible customize service is available with many options for optimal performance such as anti-detonation grooves, limit the contact of piston and cylinder wall during high temperature and high RPM, these grooves also protect the top ring by disrupting detonation waves. Double pin oilers, can add twice the amount of oil from the cylinder wall to the wrist pin bore, for better lubrication of wrist pin and reduce temperature for protecting pin and rod bushing. Lateral gas ports, provide a passage for combustion pressure to get behind and above the top ring, increasing ring seal with reduced radial rings. Moly coating on skirt for reducing friction of piston and cylinder wall, black and green colors available. Full phosphate coating, increase Oil Adhesion for protecting piston and cylinder wall at high temperature and high RPM.
